I’m Cheryl White, and my goal with this blog is to provide new rug hookers with a steady supply of new primitive style rug hooking patterns.

Hooked Rugs come in all styles, from the incredibly detailed “pictorial”, to the easy to do “primitive”.
I recommend that you start with a hooking pattern that requires only a few colors… and that you can finish quickly. You’ll appreciate how easy it is to do, and hopefully be “hooked” for life on this wonderful art form.

The three hooking patterns below are a good example:

Hooking Pattern #1 – “Sunflower”

Actual Design is – 8″(w) X 12.5″(h)

- As paper pattern only.
- Or on burlap backing.
- Or as a “Kit” on burlap with wool.

Hooking Pattern #2 – “Old Glory”

Actual Design is 16.5″(w) X 13.5″(h)

- Paper pattern only.
- Design on burlap w/picture.
- Kit on burlap with wool.

Hooking Pattern #3 – “Pumpkin And Leaves“

Actual Design is 18″(w) X 11″(h)

- Paper pattern only.
- Design on burlap w/picture.
- Kit on burlap with wool.
